Delivered by UNDR LNDN
In 2022, the Foundation for Future London has awarded a grant to UNDR LNDN for its project “British South Asian Emerging Filmmakers Hub” to host a week-long interactive open hub and weekend event to support emerging South Asian filmmakers in East London through our Medium Grant Scheme.
The Medium Grant Scheme is part of our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.
The project was one of 29 projects awarded a grant through the Medium Grant Scheme, as part of our Year 2 of the Fund.
UNDR LNDN, Apne Film Club and T A P E Collective will host a week-long interactive open hub and weekend event to support emerging South Asian filmmakers in East London and promote the UK South Asian representation of film.
The hub will be open during the daytime and feature archive posters from seminal British Asian films and commissioned portraits of emerging British South Asian film talent from across different departments in development, production, exhibition and distribution.
During the weekend, we will also collaborate to host an afternoon workshop and evening screening in the same space to showcase work from two filmmakers and discuss what is next for the diaspora in terms of opportunities and representation in UK cinema. We hope this event will inspire a new generation of local film talent!
