Newham, population 363,552.

Newham is one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, with 70% residents from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. Over 104 languages are spoken. It’s also a youthful borough, with over a third of the population under the age of 25.

The borough is home to major tourist destinations such as London City Airport, Westfield Stratford City, the largest shopping centre in Europe, and of course Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which staged the world famous 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.

It’s also home to arts, culture and heritage with Theatre Royal Stratford East, Stratford Circus Arts Centre, Brick Lane Music Hall and Rosetta Arts Centre.

For education, the borough has University of East London, Birkbeck Stratford, UCL and soon to come University of Arts London London College of Fashion.

The latest addition to Newham is East Bank, the new education and cultural quarter, coming to Queen Elizabeth park.
