Delivered by Women’s Inclusive Team: Haawa Hope
In 2025, Foundation for Future London awarded a grant to Women’s Inclusive Team: Haawa Hope, through our COLLABORATE: SAFER SPACES commission. The project is supported by the Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, jointly funded by Westfield Stratford City and Foundation for Future London.
Women’s Inclusive Team, Bromley by Bow Centre and Amour Destiné are co-developing a survivor-led, trauma-informed model supporting Black/Black Mixed heritage and South Asian women and girls affected by domestic abuse and harmful practices — embedding safety, healing and trust in community settings.
The Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund is an award-winning, five-year programme investing £10 million into communities across Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. By placing funding, resources and decision-making power directly into local hands, the programme has supported and catalysed the lives and creative journeys of more than 19,000 people across East London.
The commission builds directly on Foundation for Future London’s Empowering Safer Spaces campaign, which centred the voices of young people and under-resourced, marginalised communities to shape a shared understanding of what Safer Spaces mean across East London.
