In 2024, the Foundation for Future London awarded a grant to Big Creative Community CIC for its project “Empowering Creatives” through our Medium Grant Scheme.
Between March and December 2024, Big Creative will host five key events and 9 coaching, drop-in sessions, workshops and mentoring sessions at our co-working space and potential partner venues in boroughs like Waltham Forest, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Hackney.
The Medium Grant Scheme is part of our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.
Over the past year, our dynamic co-working space has hosted bi-monthly industry events featuring expert panels of creative professionals, aimed at enhancing employability and fostering diversity in the creative sector.
This year, we’ve expanded our offerings based on feedback, including mentoring sessions, exhibitions, business support, and tailored employability follow-up sessions.

Our goal is to engage more participants, cultivate partnerships, and expand opportunities for local students and community members aged 16 and over.
The events’ aim is to facilitate positive outcomes such as expanding creative networks, increasing awareness of local opportunities, and boosting confidence and self-initiative.
Additionally, the events contribute to promoting diversity within the creative and entrepreneurial sectors in London boroughs, connecting a more diverse audience with the cultural sector and available community services. Our learners, often facing adversity, bring exceptional talents and have encountered various barriers to learning.
