Year 4 celebration event for Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund

We are pleased to launch the fourth year of the Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund for East London creative projects, supported by founding partner Westfield Stratford City — the Fund is now open for applications.

We marked Year 4 with a special event at Coppermaker Square, with presentations, performances and testimonials from our grantees over the past few years, as well as an official welcome and scene setting from our team including:

  • Baroness Lola Young, Co-Chair, Foundation for Future London
  • Maria Adebowale-Schwarte, CEO, Foundation for Future London
  • Sarah Nelson, Director of Programmes and Communications, Foundation for Future London

Thanks to all who came along and also thanks to our production team on the day including photos from Anne-Marie Michel and film from Eastside Film Production and Marlon Rouse Tavares.

Make sure to take a look at our video and photo highlights below, we’ll be sharing these on social media.

This year we have also launched our Community Panel recruitment, looking for representatives from the four boroughs we work in — Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest — to help decide on pre-shortlisted applications through our Large Grant Scheme. Deadline is Friday 8 September 2023.

What is Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund?

The  Fund is a £10 million five-year programme that will provide new jobs, learning, training and educational programmes through the means of arts, culture, innovation, public realm and creative placemaking. People living, working or studying in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest can apply for up to £50k from the Fund’s community grant strand for new and existing projects, with a total of £550k available.

Our Flexigrant application portal for Small, Medium and Large Grants (if Expression of Interest was approved) will be open from Monday 24 July until Friday 22 September 2023.

For help and advice on making an application, please contact our Capacity Building Programme lead Lisa Stepanovic on capacitybuilding.ffl@outlook.com. Please also see upcoming workshops and sessions for practical support.
