In 2022, the Foundation for Future London has awarded a grant to ethical fashion brand and print shop Huriah Hemp CIC for its project “Leaders From the Block” for young people in Hackney through our Small Grant Scheme.
Leaders From the Block is a bi-weekly six-month leadership programme enabling young people 18-24 from overlooked East London communities to develop sustainable community projects using their lived experiences.
The project meets two of our scheme’s key themes, Learning Opportunities and Young People.
The Small Grant Scheme is part of our new Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.

Participants will get to take control of their project ideas starting from the ground up, exploring creative ways to fund their activities and express themselves, All while having a core focus on their self-development in modules such as: mindfulness, leadership, mindset and creativity.
