In 2022, the Foundation for Future London has awarded a grant to Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation for its project “Full Clip Winternship” for young people in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest through our Large Grant Scheme.
The Full Clip Winternship is a 12-month paid training opportunity for 36 young creatives from the four Olympic boroughs to engage in high quality, industry-standard film, screen, stage and music learning activities, creating a mini musical-film series. The project will provide work experience and employment and progression pathways.
The Large Grant Scheme is part of our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.
The project meets all four of our scheme’s key themes, Employment Opportunities, Learning Opportunities, Young People and Business and Entrepreneur Support.
The Full Clip Winternship is a 12-month paid training opportunity for 36 young creatives from the four Olympic boroughs to engage in high quality, industry-standard film, screen, stage and music learning activities, creating a mini musical-film series. The Wintership will create a three to four part groundbreaking youth centric mini musical series which combines the worlds of film, stage and music. Young learners will be involved from the start to put this series together with the music for the film, act in the film, co-produce, assist in directing, and edit the series. The storyline of the series will continue throughout the four five-minute parts (videos) while songs created by young creatives help narrate the storyline to the viewers.
Participants on this project will gain technical, sector-specific and entrepreneurial skills. They will gain essential life skills and develop confidence in their potential and self-initiative. Work experience, shadowing, careers/progression sessions and mentoring sessions will increase employability of participants in the long-term.
