Westfield Launches New Podcast Series
Westfield has recently launched a new podcast series to share the career paths and stories of retail founders and young entrepreneurs as part of its annual Student Event. As young people start a new academic year, the ‘How I Got Here’ series aims to educate, inspire and motivate students and entrepreneurs alike. Each of the eight episodes is in conversation with a different business founder about their career journeys, how they got to where they have and useful business advice. The episodes highlight the different types of jobs and roles across a range of sectors from food and fitness to music and the arts.
BBC 1xtra presenter Reece Parkinson hosts the podcast series in conversation with the co-founder of Gymbox David Cooper, TV finance guru Emmanuel Asuquo as well as Judy Joo – social media influencer and founder of Korean street food outlet, Seoul Bird, amongst other guests.
For the first time ever, Student Lounges opened at both Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City as bespoke spaces for young people to receive exclusive giveaways and great discounts. Attendees received a fun-filled goody bag to start the academic year back in style along with a list of exclusive offers from Footasylum, MAC, All Saints, Tommy Hilfiger and more.
Alyson Hodkinson, General Manager of Westfield Stratford City stated at the time of the events: “As we can’t host our full-scale Student Event in person this year we wanted to reach our younger visitors in a new way. The ‘How I Got Here’ podcast is a great way to share the stories of the entrepreneurs and retailers from our centres with students. We still have some fantastic exclusive offers at the Student Lounges to give a great experience, bringing those new to London into our centres safely.”
The full series can be found on all major platforms including Apple and Spotify along with amazon music, google, and deezer.
