A message of support for Care Leavers Month from King Simpson

This National Care Leavers Month, Foundation for Future London is standing with care-experienced young people — sharing pledges, stories and voices from our campaign for change. We’re calling for a new law guaranteeing that every young person leaving care receives a respectful, high-quality “standard of care” bag — a simple, powerful promise that they are valued, supported and never alone.

Today, we’re honoured to share a special message from BAFTA-nominated writer and filmmaker King Simpson, who joined us at our campaign launch in June. This video is made for young people — by someone who knows their journey.

King is an emerging creative force — a BAFTA-nominated storyliner and executive producer whose work blends narrative craft with deep social purpose. He draws on his own foster care experience to challenge the status quo, spark healing, and reshape society’s understanding of care-experienced young people.

From writing and collaborating with charities to developing his filmmaking through spaces like Sticker Studios, King uses visual storytelling to confront broken systems and imagine a better world.

Thank you, King, for using your voice and your art to lift others.
