Annual Report 2022-23

We are delighted to present our Annual Report for 2022-23, which documents the wide range of successful programmes, projects, commissions and collaborations we’ve enabled as part of our role as a sustainable development charity for East London.

The report draws out the major highlights for our two key grantmaking programmes, the five-year £10m Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, which is now entering its fourth year and made possible through our partnership with Westfield Stratford City, and our vital partnership with the City of London Corporation, which delivered a £1m four-year programme looking at creative skills and learning and will come to a close in 2023.

As a sustainable and ethical fundraiser, we invest in the peoples and places of the London Boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, focused specifically on creating opportunities for local people in the arts, culture, education, creative sector, innovation and creative placemaking.

The report shares our thinking about where we started from, our vision for opportunities for local people with inclusion and access baked at the core and our ambitious plans for the future. We are pleased to continue to share transparency in how we invest through a Grants Policy, what our KPIs and measurements for impact and success and also share the kind of life-changing projects that we invest in, with example case studies.

For the Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, we feature the following projects:

  • UK Cultural Exchange Pilot
  • New Talent Future Leaders
  • Young Urban Arts Foundation
  • X-Conversation
  • Caramel Rock

For the Foundations Programme, we have case studies on the following projects:
