Delivered by Roman Road Trust
In 2020, we are supporting “Transform the Common Room” by Roman Road Trust through our Connecting People and Places funding, co-funded by Foundation for Future London and City of London.
We awarded “Transform the Common Room” project a grant as it meets many of Connecting People and Places’s themes and priorities including collaboration, participation, diversity, inclusive, accessible, placemaking, engagement, outreach and partnerships.
The project also focuses on Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people, one of the marginalised groups of beneficiaries we want to reach.
Roman Road Trust recently raised £81,721 to transform a derelict space in Roman Road into a community learning centre for the benefit of local people. Foundation for FutureLondon is funding the next step of this project which is called “Transform The Common Room: Developing the Programme”.
This stage will enable Roman Road Trust to engage with the local community, deliver taster workshops, and deliver facilitation training to create the first wave of programming whilst the space is being built. The Common Room is scheduled to open in Summer 2021.
