The Bigger Picture

Delivered by Trapped In Zone One

In 2020, we are supporting “The Bigger Picture” project by Trapped in Zone One through our Connecting People and Places funding, co-funded by Foundation for Future London and City of London.

“The Bigger Picture” is a collaborative project based in Tower Hamlets between Trapped in Zone One, GoodGym Tower Hamlets, Mile End Community Project and Inspiring City.

We awarded “The Bigger Picture” project a grant as it meets many of Connecting People and Places’s themes and priorities including creative learning, public realm, placemaking, participation and outreach.

The project also focuses on young people, working class people and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME), which are some of the marginalised beneficiaries we want to reach.

About the project

The Bigger Picture is a themed film night which showcases the experiences, ambition, difficulties and creativity of groups and individuals from our communities.

They appreciate the past few months have been challenging times, having experienced the first lockdown of our lifetime. With many hobbies and activities on pause, where people may usually gather with friends and family, they have taken this opportunity to come together with friends and bring a virtual film screening project.

The Bigger Picture aims to entertain and encourage non-divisive discussion.

The first event will take place on Sunday 26 July from 7pm to 8pm. The event will be hosted on Zoom, with a welcome from Bablu Miah from Trapped in Zone One, Laura Williams from GoodGym Tower Hamlets, Nurull Islam from Mile End Community Project and Stuart Holdsworth from Inspiring City.

This is a FREE event and booking is required through Eventbrite, with all donations received going towards supporting their future projects.
