Delivered by Tiffin Walli
In 2022, the Foundation for Future London has awarded a grant to Tiffin Walli for its project “Making HERstory project” to help women develop food businesses through our Capital Grant Scheme.
The Capital Grant Scheme is art of our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.
We are keen to address this issue and to develop new ways of supporting these women to become financially independent by extending our Making HERStory project. Initially we will focus on the production of Yogurt for the mainstream and Asian market in East London.
This will allow two of our participants to create commercially viable products. One of these women is producing delicious traditional Bangladeshi yoghurt, and the second wants to create cook-at-home boxes with recipes that use her traditional Sri Lankan spices.
Having carried our tester sessions and market research with 150 people, and having collected 70 surveys we are now seeking grants to help support the next stages of our development.
We need financial support to find and fit-out a space which will achieve two activities. Firstly, it will act as a business incubator for these two women to start their businesses, and secondly, would also provide us with space for training and further business incubation.
While our Year 1 focus will be on these two products, because they will create employment opportunities for others we work with, we would continue to deliver our online training, and some face-to-face training to identify other potentially food businesses.
With dedicated incubation and training space we can work with our communities to provide:
