Delivered by Bimpe Adeyemi
In 2022, the Foundation for Future London has awarded a grant to Bimpe Adeyemi for its project “Letting Imagination Take Flight” for young people in Newham and Tower Hamlets through our Small Grant Scheme.
“Letting Imagination Take Flight” is a fully funded 6-month Afrofuturist Theatre and Performance programme for young people 11-16 from East London.
The Small Grant Scheme is part of our new Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, funded by Westfield Stratford City.
The project meets two of our scheme’s key themes, Young People and Learning Opportunities.
Xenogenesis is running a fully funded 6-month Afrofuturist Theatre and Performance programme for young people 11-16 from East London. Over the course of the programme participants will explore Afrofuturism, a cultural aesthetic that combines science fiction, history, and fantasy. Guided by creative experts, participants will have the opportunity to explore their futuristic ideas in depth, explore their own theatrical language and create an original performance piece.
