Freemasons Road

Delivered by Civic Ltd

In 2020, we are supporting the “Freemasons Road” project by Civic Ltd. through our Connecting People and Places funding, co-funded by Foundation for Future London and City of London.

“Freemasons Road” is a collaborative project between Civic Ltd. and Echo based in Newham.

We awarded “Freemasons Road” project a grant as it meets many of Connecting People and Places’s themes and priorities including placemaking, creative learning, diversity, inclusivity, accessibility, engagement, training and employment.

About the project

The Freemasons Road project is a Community Collective who together in partnership with Civic is reinventing and breathing new life into seven abandoned shops on the Freemasons Road high street in Custom House.

Partnering with Echo and local creative practitioners, the project will deliver five ‘neighbourhood placemaking’ workshops where the community can collectively dream up the future of their high street whilst designing effective and powerful solutions to reanimate the disused spaces.

The outcome, an army of residents who think of their neighbourhood as a place they can change to improve the lives of everyone who lives there.

Take part
