Delivered by Leaders in Community
In 2020, we are supporting the “Be Inspired: Young Women” project by Leaders in Community through our Connecting People and Places funding, co-funded by Foundation for Future London and City of London.
“Be Inspired: Young Women” is a project based in Tower Hamlets.
We awarded “Be Inspired: Young Women” project a grant as it meets many of Connecting People and Places’s themes and priorities including creative learning, collaboration, participation, diversity, education, engagement, outreach and partnerships.
The project also focuses on young people, women and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people, which are some of the marginalised beneficiaries we want to reach.
Kicking off in September 2020, Leaders in Community will be running a female empowerment programme aiming to inspire and support young women to pursue a career in arts and culture. Leaders in Community will work with 16-18 year old young women and help guide them in this transitional phase in their lives to explore all their career/ study options.
Industry experts will give participants a taste of the vast opportunities apparent here through interactive workshops and practical demonstrations, and this will lead to an ‘arts and culture’ themed podcast series, to support other local young people pursuing this path.
