In 2020, we are supporting the “2020 You Can’t Handle The Booth (YCHTB) Summer Challenge” project by Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation through our Connecting People and Places funding, co-funded by Foundation for Future London and City of London.
“2020 YCHTB Summer Challenge” is a project based across Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
We awarded “2020 YCHTB Summer Challenge” project a grant as it meets many of Connecting People and Places’s themes and priorities including creative learning, training, participation, diversity and collaboration.
The project also focuses on young people and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people, some of the marginalised groups of beneficiaries we want to reach.
“2020 YCHTB Summer Challenge” is a talent development project working with 30 young MCs, producers and sound engineers to create an EP, live performance and video. The project has been developed to give talented young people wanting to pursue a creative career direct access to mainstream resources and progression pathways. Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation devised this project in response to young people wanting access to high quality learning opportunities run by artists with credible track records and industry connections. This project aims to support young people develop as mainstream recording artists, sound engineers and producers.
