Organisation aims, mission and values
- To contribute to a flourishing society. The corporation aims to ensure people are safe and feel safe, they enjoy good health and wellbeing, they have the opportunity to enrich their lives and reach their full potential and communities are cohesive and have the facilities they need.
- To support a thriving economy. The corporation aims to work with trusted and socially responsible businesses as well as acting as a global hub of innovation in finance, professional services, commerce and culture.
- To shape outstanding environments. The corporation aims to inspire excellence, creativity and collaboration, as well as maintaining a sustainable natural environment with resilient and well maintained pubic spaces.
How we deliver these aims
The City Corporation is a major investor across a broad range of cultural organisations and attractions with considerable reach and influence in the UK and abroad. Organisations such as Barbican and Museum of London, as well as green spaces such as Hampstead Heath and heritage landmarks like Tower Bridge all benefit from this investment. In addition to this, the Corporation strives to animate the City for communities, businesses and visitors through the continued innovation of public infrastructure, as well as the curation of engaging and innovative cultural programmes across a range of artforms. Our volunteers support us in the delivery of these aims, through our extensive outdoor arts programme and events such as non-engine idling day.
Who benefits from our work
The City of London Corporation works to improve and enrich the lives of anyone who lives in, works in and visits the Square Mile.
