Natasha Zielazinski

Natasha Zielazinski and Detta Danford are colleagues, friends and mums who have been working together for over 15 years. In that time we have developed music and creative projects with organisations like the Barbican Centre, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC and the Guildhall School among others – from creative ensembles through to large-scale community events.

Our work sits across community music making, composition, performance, improvisation, and teaching and learning. We are both Guildhall Coaching Associates and have worked as coaches and mentors over the last 10 years, in 1-1 and group settings with young artists, the homelessness sector and now with young mothers.

Music, Motherhood and Me is an idea that has been in gestation for over two years and we are incredibly excited to be able to make this project happen in our local borough of Newham with our fantastic partners Bonny Downs Community Association and The Magpie Project and with the support of Foundation for Future London.

As artists we recognise the importance and power that comes through personal expression and creativity.

As coaches, artists and mothers we believe that connecting with others and finding moments for self-expression can be vital ways to support the journey we all take as mothers, women and as human beings.
