Friends of Abbey Gardens
Abbey Gardens is an open-access community in the East London borough of Newham where anyone is welcome to participate in the communal growing of flowers, fruit and vegetables.
Unlike the traditional allotment system, no one pays for a patch but we don’t have plot holders who enter into an agreement to be active contributors to the garden in exchange for a plot.
We hold regular events, workshops and gardening sessions based on nature, the environment and ways in which we can come together to bring about some form of common good.
