Cardboard Citizens
Cardboard Citizens is a theatre company and charity established in 1991. We believe that theatre and art can transform, that it can challenge the individual to grow and ignite a fire in the belly of wider society to change.
We deliver theatre, art, and training with people and artists with experience of homelessness, poverty or inequity that interrogates and challenges social injustices most alive in our world.
We support people with lived experience to develop skills, knowledge and networks to forge sustainable careers in the arts.
We recognise that homelessness is not a single issue, disproportionately affecting marginalised groups, including people from lower socio-economic backgrounds, global majority and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Our mission, therefore, is to create art and theatre which highlights, and challenges intersectional injustices in society.
