Art Matters
We believe in the value of art and creativity. Making art gives young people agency and makes them powerful.
Each summer we hold an exhibition which showcases over 4000 artworks by young people across educational phases from state schools across East London. The exhibition is the largest show of its kind in the UK and is wholly inclusive with everything put forward by teachers being shown to the public. A programme of creative workshops for young people takes place at the summer exhibition at University of East London’s Docklands Campus.
We introduced our first online exhibition in 2021 in response to the pandemic. It has since become an annual extension to our physical summer exhibition and remains open.
We work with networks of primary and secondary teachers to support young people in developing and sharing their creativity and are supported by University of the Arts London and University of East London.
