Intergenerational is defined as a group of individuals in different generations or age categories. But it is so much more than this.
Different ages coming together to share a common interest – can this be possible?
It is this idea of fairness in terms of treatment, experiences, and equal relationships between children, adults, youths and seniors, from whatever walk of life that can only bring understanding, empowerment, patience and even more important lifelong learning and friendships.
Intergenerational activities have the ability to open up a wealth of experiences and views that can provide equity between these different generations.
If you are an individual, community group or organisation who has either developed some existing brilliant intergenerational projects like this that you want to grow, or you simply just have a great idea on how to connect different generations, then our funding opportunities may be just what you need.
Our aim as a funder is to ensure we are capitalising and celebrating the wealth of diversity in the four boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, and there is no better way of doing this than through intergenerational activities.
