Growing a Greener Future Together: Westfield Better Futures launch

Westfield Better Futures launched during Great Big Green Week 2026, marking the start of a new sustainability programme from Foundation for Future London and Westfield Stratford City.

On Thursday 11 June, we brought together community organisations, local leaders and people passionate about sustainability from across East London at Oxford House. The aim was simple: to start by listening, sharing ideas and building the connections that will help shape what comes next.

Through workshops, conversations and time to connect, people explored what a greener future could look like for their communities — and what support is needed to make it happen.

The conversations brought forward some clear priorities for the year ahead, including building skills and confidence, sharing knowledge and local expertise, strengthening partnerships, and making sure communities are at the heart of shaping the programme. We also explored ideas around reducing waste and repair, the circular economy, pathways into green jobs and helping more people get involved in creating change where they live.

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared their time, ideas and experience. And thank you to our partner, Westfield Stratford City, for helping bring Westfield Better Futures to life.

This is only the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more opportunities to connect, get involved and help shape a greener future for East London.
