The Get Together returns to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

We’re pleased to be supporting this year’s free summer event The Get Together, a small, fun, family-friendly event taking place around Timber Lodge on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Whether you want to be entertained, get creative or get up and take part —  pop along to this event with your family and friends!

The event will take place on Sunday 8 August from 12pm and will feature performances and entertainment from our East Bank partners, local performers, sports, arts and crafts, delicious food and more.

If you love tea or rhyming slang, make sure to pop along to “My Neck Of The Woods” creative workshop by HereUs, who will be exploring East London through language and craft — read below for more details. Funded by our Foundations Programme, co-funded by City of London.

On the day you can also expect to find:

• Breakin’ Convention take over

• Dance presented by Sadler’s wells
• Storytelling
• Making workshops with the V&A
• 3D printing with UCL
• Cape making with London College of Fashion

HereUs: My Neck Of The Woods

Share your corner of East London with creative practice HereUs. We invite you to explore rhyming slang and the language used at the heart of your East London through our hands-on creative workshop. Expect to delve into word play, mapping, and drawing to express your East London with a cup of Rosie Lee.

This workshop is open to all ages, the aim is to have fun, creatively exploring your best bits of East London and embellishing a teacup to take home with you. Outputs of the workshop will support the future development of artworks across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

This event is taking place around Timber Lodge and is being supported by London Legacy Development Corporation, East Bank partners BBC, Sadler’s Wells, UAL’s London College of Fashion, UCL and the V&A, and other local fantastic local partners. So gather your family and friends and let’s get together!

The Get Together, Sunday 8 August from 12pm, free. The Timber Lodge, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 1A Honour Lea Ave, London E20 1DY. Please note: although you are welcome to drop-in to this event, you will need to sign up for sessions on the day in order to participate.
