Newham Civic Christmas Tree light switch on event – 18 November 2023

Come join Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, Chief Executive Abi Gbago and your local councillors at the ‘Civic Christmas Light Switch On’ event at East Ham Town Hall and Library on Saturday 18 November from 3pm-6pm.

This event is supported by the Foundation for Future London’s Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund, backed by Westfield Stratford City, and West Ham United Foundation.

There will be lots of fun activities and performances including:

• Festive performance by Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation
• Performance of ‘Not Yet a Yeti’ by Discover Children’s Story Children’s Centre. This is a performance for children aged four upwards based on the book by Lou Treleavan
• Other performers will include steel pan band Pan Vibration, local singer Skye St Anthony’s Gospel Choir and Nelson Primary School.
• The Malayalee Association of the U.K. will perform a dance performance fusing Bangara and Bollywood Dance styles.
• Arts and crafts with local artist Momtaz Begum-Hossain
