Great Get Together Art Map

Foundation for Future London’s Comfort Zone made its debut at the Great Get Together on 23 June 2019, showcasing our plans for our upcoming community-led hubs. With our partners STEP, A New Direction and the London Legacy Development Corporation, we were excited to meet with people from across our neighbouring boroughs to talk about what ‘place’ means to them.

Pride of place went to local artist Joey Yu’s enormous Art Map, illustrating the neighbourhoods that fringe the East Bank site. Everyone visiting the Comfort Zone was invited to share a memory they have of the area; from going to school or work to having an amazing night out, so that we could collect and compile stories of how people live, play and work around the East Bank.

We had lots of conversations about community, home, place and change. Together with Women of the Wick, we will be turning these conversations into a podcast to be broadcast on our website soon.
