We’re taking part in Creative Industries Festival on 4 Sept 2024

Calling all creative talent, entrepreneurs, policymakers, students and graduates, academics, researchers, and everyone with a passion for the Creative Industries! Come along to this year’s Creative Industries Festival taking place from 4-7 September at Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability..

The Foundation for Future London’s CEO Sarah Nelson will be giving a talk on Wed 4 September 2024 12-1.30pm called ‘Connecting East London and the UK through Co-design, Creative Practices and Lived Experience’.

The Creative Industries Festival aims to connect, educate, and inspire current and future creative talent and bring together the best of the UK creative and business communities. It is hosted by the School of Arts and Creative Industries at University of East London.

During the festival there will be a host of interactive workshops, talks, panel discussions, installations, performances, exhibitions, hackathons, showcases, a talent/ careers fair, and community engagement events.

The programme features several of our grantees and former grantees including Bow Arts,  Caramel Rock, Catayst In Communities, East Bank, Rosetta Arts, and University of East London, plus our partners Mayor of London and many others.

The festival will be a platform for change, bringing together business and industry professionals, educators, future talent, and local communities to share knowledge, develop collaborations, initiate future innovations and start conversations to bring positive change to stakeholders throughout the creative industries.

Finding the Festival

VENUE : Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability, Knowledge Dock, University of East London, University Way, London, E16 2RB

The Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability is based in the Knowledge Dock on the University of East London Docklands campus. The campus is served by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Cyprus station, with trains running every 5-10 minutes . You can also get the Elizabeth Line and change at Custom House. Bus routes serving Docklands include the 101, 173, 262, 300, 366, 376, 474 and N551. Please note there is no parking available on campus.

WALKING DIRECTIONS FROM CYPRUS STATION:

1. Exit Cyprus Station and cross over the bridge leading to Docklands Campus. Look out for our ‘CIF24’ signs to help you find the way or ask any of the student ambassadors to direct you towards The Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability/ Knowledge Dock.

2. Walk straight ahead, through the archway onto Campus, with the reception building on your left, and head straight forward where you will see the Dock and London City Airport. On your left will be East Building and on your right is the tented central square. On Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th there will be various graduation ceremony events, music and food stalls around the central square.

3. You will see Costa on your right and you need to turn right on the road next to Costa and you should be able to see The Library Building in front of you.

4. Head towards the Library and then you will see The Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability to the right of this.
