Foundation for Future London & East Bank Support 2024 Newham Civic Awards

The Newham Civic Awards in association with Berkeley recognise, celebrate and reward exceptional individuals, entrepreneurs, groups, organisations and companies who contribute to making the London Borough of Newham unique.

The Foundation for Future London, in partnership with East Bank, is pleased to sponsor the Create and Thrive Award, which aims to recognise groups or organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to arts, culture or sport in the borough.

Nominated by those who live, work or learn in Newham, the recipients are local champions from all walks of life, of all ages from across the borough.

Choose from 10 award categories across creativity, wellness, volunteering, community wealth and more.

The deadline to submit a nomination is now Monday 18 November 2024 at 23:59pm (extended from the original date of Monday 11 November 2024 at 23.59pm.)

Award Categories

This year, we’re proud to present 10 award categories across creativity, wellness, volunteering, community wealth and more. These include the Good Neighbour Award, Green Champion Award and Youth Excellence Award; each designed to highlight the outstanding efforts of those shaping our communities.

Award categories for individuals

  • Good Neighbour Award
  • Outstanding Contribution Award sponsored by Excel London

Award categories for an individual, group or organisation

  • Green Champion Award

Awards categories for groups and organisations

  • Community Wealth Builder Award sponsored by Lendlease for Silvertown and Stratford Cross
  • Create and Thrive Award sponsored by Foundation for Future London and East Bank
  • Well Newham Award
  • Stronger & United Together Award

Award categories for the two highest honours Newham can bestow

  • Honorary Alderperson nominations are for former Councillors who have rendered outstanding service to the Council
  • Freedom of the Borough recognises individuals of distinction or those who have made significant contributions to the borough.

Key dates

  • Nominations open on Tuesday 15 October, 10am
  • Nominations close on Monday 18 November 2024 at 23:59pm
  • Winners are notified by Monday 16 December
  • Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 5 February 2025, 6pm at the Old Stratford Town Hall

The awards will be presented at the prestigious Newham Civic Awards ceremony on Wednesday 5 February, 6pm at the Old Stratford Town Hall.
