Empowering Safer Spaces Consultation 12 March
We are inviting young people, artists, creatives, community groups and others in East London to take part in a conversation about what ‘safer spaces’ actually mean to East London’s under-resourced and marginalised communities. We are holding a three-hour session on Tues 12 March with lunch provided. Foundation for Future London has commissioned Social Ark to lead the session.
As well as sharing your views, you’ll have the chance to develop innovative solutions that the Foundation can package into a funding application to support scale-out ‘bottom-up’ community change. Funding will be sought for a five-year, sustainable network across the four Olympic legacy boroughs with built-in co-design, capacity building and network development at its core.
What does ‘SAFER SPACES’ mean to you, and if the Foundation had 5 million pounds over five years to address ‘safer spaces’ how would you as a local community leader want them to spend it?
We are looking for up to 60 local people and organisations to help inform this co-design process.
In line with our and Social Ark’s values, Lived Experience is important to us, as is ensuring we have representation from a range of marginalised communities, with class, ethnicity, sexuality and gender and borough diversity.
Why get involved in Safer Spaces Consultation?
- You will be able to convey the voices of the communities you serve
- You will be at the forefront of shaping a new Safer Spaces campaign and community fund
- Develop/strengthen your relationship with Foundation for Future London, Social Ark, and network with other East London values-driven community leaders and organisations.
Come along and be part of this exciting consultation and campaign.
