Foundation’s CEO to compere London Climate Summit
In the week before world leaders meet for the COP26, the Mayor of London and London Councils will bring together London’s leaders to showcase the city’s commitment and ability to deliver net zero at the London Climate Summit. The Foundation’s CEO Maria Adebowale-Schwarte will act as compere for this important event on 28 October.
The Summit will celebrate and drive collective action towards the shared vision for a more connected city that is greener and lower carbon, more equal, healthy and resilient, and where all London’s residents, business and diverse communities can thrive.
It will bring together community organisations, Leaders of London boroughs, and London business who will highlight and discuss:
- London’s commitment to net zero and the central role it plays in meeting the UK’s climate targets.
- The plan for a Green New Deal for Londoners and the role it will play in London’s recovery from the pandemic, including action on retrofit, growth of a green economy, and funding for Future Neighbourhoods 2030.
- How residents, businesses and diverse communities are contributing to climate solutions and their essential role in supporting a green recovery for Londoners through collaboration and innovation.
- London’s partnerships with cities, regions, government and international partners to achieve net zero.
